Colonel (ret) Tommy H. Roberson is the current President of the Military Officers Association of America – Central Ohio Chapter. A native of Alabama, he was commissioned in 1972 as a Quartermaster Officer through the Reserve Officer Training Corps, University of Alabama and entered active duty in 1973 after completion of a master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Alabama. COL(ret) Roberson has served in a wide variety of command and staff assignments in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Center & School, the 24th Infantry Division, 1st Corps Support Command, and U.S. Army Recruiting Command. COL(ret) Roberson served as the Senior Logistics Advisor from 1987-1989 to the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; as the Senior Logistics Advisor to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) from 1995-1998 in Brussels, Belgium, and as the Senior Logistics Instructor at the U.S. Army War College in 1998-1999.
COL(ret) Roberson retired from the U.S. Army in 1999 after spending 26 years on duty. During the next 15 years, Col(ret) Roberson worked as a contractor with a variety of companies supporting the Army Staff and Army Secretariat. Key projects included management of the Army’s worldwide Operational Project Stocks while in the Army G-4, work with the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) closing and realigning 38 Army installations, and working in a specialized part of the Army Staff (LandWarNet) and participated in fielding and training personnel on the World-Wide Internet – Tactical (WIN-T) to combat brigades in the 10th Mountain Division, 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, and 4th Infantry Divisions prior to deployments to Afghanistan. COL(ret) Roberson ended his civilian work on the Army Staff in the Army G-6 and totally retired in 2015.
In addition to a Bachelor of Science and MBA degrees from the University of Alabama, COL(ret) Roberson has a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University and is a graduate of the Army Command & General Staff College. His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia Liberation Medals, Parachutist Badge, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge.
COL(ret) Roberson and his wife Sharon moved to Ohio in 2016 and currently reside in Grove City, Ohio.
